Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is restoring its two-way Lahore-Manchester flights after a five-year suspension, while weekly Islamabad-Beijing services will also resume after a two-month break.
The national carrier said demand for the restored UK route is strong, with all 310 seats on the Lahore-Manchester flight scheduled for July 2 already fully booked.
According to PIA, two-way flights between Lahore and Manchester will resume from July 1.
The first Manchester-Lahore flight will operate on July 1, while the first Lahore-Manchester flight will depart on July 2.
The July 2 service will be operated by a Boeing 777 aircraft.
PIA said bookings for 175 passengers have already been confirmed for the Lahore-Manchester service, while all 310 seats on the July 2 flight have been fully booked.
UK operations continue to expand
PIA's flights to the United Kingdom were suspended in 2020 following the ban imposed on the airline's UK operations.
The airline noted that Islamabad-Manchester flights were restored last year, and the resumption of Lahore-Manchester services marks another step in rebuilding its UK network.
Islamabad-Beijing flights after two months
PIA also announced that weekly two-way flights between Islamabad and Beijing will restart from July 3. The Beijing route had remained suspended since April 10 because of the security situation in the Middle East.
According to the airline, one weekly two-way flight between Islamabad and Beijing will be operated using a Boeing 777 aircraft.
The restoration of the Lahore-Manchester and Islamabad-Beijing routes is expected to improve travel options for passengers heading to the United Kingdom and China while strengthening PIA's international flight network.
The airline said it remains committed to gradually restoring suspended international services as operational conditions improve.
