Intense firing and explosion were reported on University Road in Karachi on Saturday.
Heavy gunfire was reported in Block 6 of Gulistan-i-Jauhar. The law enforcement personnel were on their way to the area. Police said officers would reach the scene as soon as possible, while rescue teams were also dispatched.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah took notice of the reported firing and the sound of the explosion.
The chief minister contacted the Inspector General of Sindh Police and the Additional Inspector General of Karachi and sought a detailed report on the incident, according to the spokesperson.
The chief minister directed police to reach the scene immediately, determine the nature of the incident and take the necessary action.
