Sri Lanka secured a thrilling six-run victory against Pakistan in the sixth match of the T20 tri-nation series at Pindi Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
The win confirmed Sri Lanka’s place in the final alongside Pakistan, eliminating Zimbabwe from the tournament. Batting first, Sri Lanka posted 184 for five in 20 overs. Kamil Mishara starred with 76 off 48 balls, while Kusal Mendis contributed 40 from 23 deliveries. Janith Liyanage added 24 not out and captain Dasun Shanaka 17. Extras accounted for 13 runs. The innings saw early wickets fall, but partnerships stabilised the score.
Pakistan, chasing 185 for victory, fell short at 178 for seven. Salman Agha top-scored with 63 not out, supported by Usman Khan with 33 and Mohammad Nawaz with 27. Despite an aggressive start, Pakistan lost wickets at regular intervals, leaving them seven runs shy of the target. Extras contributed 11 runs.
