Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said Pakistan had given a befitting response to India’s unjustified aggression back in May, forcing New Delhi to request a ceasefire.
He accused the Modi government of trying to dominate the region but suffering a “crushing defeat” both militarily and morally.
Role of institutions in foreign policy
Speaking at a ceremony organized by the Institute of Regional Studies, Tarar said institutions like IRS play an important role in shaping foreign policy. He added that Pakistan had successfully exposed India’s misleading propaganda and presented the truth to the international community.

Pakistan’s response to Indian aggression
The minister claimed that Pakistan’s strong and united stance forced India to request a ceasefire after facing a tough reply.
He said:
-
The Modi government and Hindu ideology have suffered defeat.
-
India’s usurper and aggressor behaviour has been revealed to the world.
-
The truth about incidents like Pahalgam had been exposed globally, with Pakistan even offering an independent investigation.
Tarar stressed that Pakistan has always played an effective role for lasting peace in the region.
Pakistan’s role in war on terror
During his speech, the minister highlighted Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war against terrorism, noting that the country had lost 90,000 lives to keep the world safe.

He added that Pakistan remains the most affected nation by terrorism, yet has continued to uphold peace and stability. “Our sons are sacrificing their lives to make the country safe,” he said.
Kashmir remains core issue
Tarar reiterated that Kashmir is an international issue that should be resolved in line with UN resolutions. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s consistent stance, declaring:
-
Pakistan stands firmly with Kashmiris.
-
The two-nation theory is being proven right with each passing day.
-
Pakistan will continue to work for balance and peace in the region.
India’s politics in cricket
Turning to sports, Tarar criticized India’s recent behaviour in cricket. He said that after its military defeat, India had now shifted to “high-handed tactics” in the sports field. “When you cannot win the war, you adopt the same attitude on the grounds,” he remarked.
He also condemned the behaviour of the match referee, Andy Pycroft, in Pakistan’s recent cricket dispute, saying:
-
The referee should have acted neutrally.
-
The PCB will decide the next course of action.
He further added, “A nation that suffers from moral degradation brings politics into sports. Six ships were shot down, the war was lost, and now they refuse to even shake hands in cricket.”

Pakistan will play its part in ensuring regional balance and stability.
