Rockstar Games has confirmed that "Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look" will premiere on Thursday, August 27, giving fans their biggest official glimpse yet of the highly anticipated open-world game.
Netflix gets exclusive premiere
In a first for the franchise, the presentation will debut exclusively on Netflix at 3:00 pm ET, before becoming available on other platforms.
Rockstar announced the showcase on social media, confirming that Netflix will have a six-hour exclusive window for the presentation.
When can everyone else watch?
Fans without a Netflix subscription will still be able to watch the extended preview later the same day.
The full video will be released on the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel and the Grand Theft Auto VI website at 9:00 pm ET on August 27.
What fans can expect
Rockstar has not revealed what the presentation will include, but the title "An Extended Look" has fuelled expectations that it will feature the most detailed gameplay footage released so far.
The showcase will mark Rockstar's biggest official update on GTA 6 in more than a year.
Release date unchanged
Despite recurring rumours of another delay, Rockstar's parent company, Take-Two Interactive, continues to maintain that Grand Theft Auto VI will launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Former Rockstar developer warns delays remain possible
Speculation about another delay resurfaced after former Rockstar Games animator Mike York said the studio has historically prioritised quality over release schedules.
Speaking to Indy100, York said Rockstar would not hesitate to postpone the game if critical bugs remained unresolved, even if it meant delaying the launch by several months.
However, there is currently no indication that Rockstar plans to delay the game again.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick recently reaffirmed that GTA 6 remains on track for its scheduled November release.
