The Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to continue backing its current leadership structure, keeping confidence in both the national team’s T20 captain and head coach.
Sources said the Pakistan Cricket Board has opted to maintain continuity by allowing the current captain and coaching staff to continue their roles according to existing agreements.
The board believes stability in leadership is crucial for the team’s progress and wants both the captain and head coach to continue working under the current framework.
According to sources, T20 skipper Salman Ali Agha has received the green signal from the board to continue leading the national side in the shortest format.
The decision came after separate meetings between the captain and the PCB chairman, where discussions focused on the team’s future direction and strategy.
The board has also decided that Mike Hesson will continue working as Pakistan’s white-ball head coach in accordance with his existing contract.
Sources indicated that the PCB is keen to avoid frequent changes in the team’s management structure, preferring consistency in coaching leadership.
Aqib Javed retains high performance role
The PCB has also expressed confidence in Aqib Javed, who will continue serving as Director of the High Performance Center.
Alongside this role, he will remain part of the selection committee responsible for overseeing squad selections and talent development.
Meanwhile, the board has accepted the resignation of selector Aleem Dar, marking a change within the selection setup.
Sources did not provide further details regarding the reasons behind his resignation.
