The exhumation of Mir Raza Ali’s grave and the subsequent post-mortem examination have been completed in Karachi as part of the investigation into his death.
Members of the medical board, Mir Raza’s parents and police officials were present during the exhumation and post-mortem process.
The grave exhumation and post-mortem examination were carried out at a graveyard located within the jurisdiction of Firozabad police station.
Mir Raza’s father, Mir Hussain Ali, was also present at the graveyard and expressed satisfaction with the process after previously raising objections.
When asked by Samaa TV whether he was satisfied with the procedure so far, particularly after his objections the previous day, Mir Hussain Ali indicated his satisfaction by placing his hand on his chest.
Medical board conducts procedure
The exhumation was conducted by an eight-member medical board headed by Dr Samia Syed. The head of the medical board, Dr Samia, along with other members, reached the graveyard to oversee the medical examination.
The deceased’s family members and police officers also participated in the proceedings.
The latest procedure followed reservations raised by Mir Raza’s family over the composition of the medical board.
The family had rejected the previously constituted five-member medical board, expressing objections to its formation and seeking changes to the arrangement.
Following the reservations, preparations were completed for the exhumation under the supervision of the newly constituted eight-member medical board.
Heavy police presence at graveyard
A heavy contingent of police personnel was deployed around the graveyard during the exhumation and post-mortem process.
The security arrangements were put in place as authorities proceeded with the examination in connection with the Mir Raza murder case.
The completion of the post-mortem is expected to form part of the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mir Raza’s death.
