Kaghan Valley witnessed a massive influx of visitors during the Muharram holidays, with more than 147,812 tourists travelling to the scenic destination, according to the Kaghan Development Authority (KDA).
The valley continued to attract the highest number of tourists in the province, while authorities remained on high alert to manage the growing rush and ensure visitors' safety.
According to data released by the Kaghan Development Authority, a total of 147,812 tourists entered Kaghan Valley during the Muharram holidays.
The visitors included 30 foreign tourists, highlighting the valley's growing appeal among both domestic and international travellers.
Kaghan Valley remained the province's most visited tourist destination throughout the holiday period, with the influx of tourists continuing even after the holidays.
In response to the increasing number of visitors, the Kaghan Development Authority deployed its staff at various locations across the valley. Officials are providing guidance, information and assistance to tourists to help ensure a smooth and enjoyable travel experience.
Authorities focus on traffic management
The KDA administration, Tourism Police and local police have been working together to maintain traffic flow across the valley.
Authorities said efforts are underway to restore and manage traffic efficiently amid the heavy influx of tourists visiting the region.
Tourists urged to stay away from Kunhar River
The Kaghan Development Authority has also issued a public safety advisory for visitors.
Tourists have been urged to avoid the Kunhar River and its tributaries to prevent accidents and ensure their safety during their stay in the valley.
