PIMS Executive Director Dr. Imran Sikandar Rana has advised citizens to avoid overeating meat on Eid-ul-Azha, warning that excessive consumption of sacrificial meat during intense heat can create serious health problems.
Talking to Samaa TV, Dr. Imran Sikandar Rana said citizens should eat less meat during Eid-ul-Azha. He said people often consume large quantities of sacrificial meat during Eid days, but overeating can harm their health, especially in hot weather.
Dr Sikandar warned that eating too much meat can cause gastroenteritis. He said citizens should be careful with their diet during Eid celebrations and avoid putting unnecessary stress on the digestive system.
Heat, overeating may raise stroke risk
The PIMS executive director also cautioned that eating too much sacrificial meat during intense heat can also cause stroke. He urged citizens to take precautions, eat moderately and remain mindful of their health while celebrating Eid.
Dr Rana paid tribute to doctors, nurses and paramedical staff performing duties on Eid day. He said medical workers continue to serve citizens while also sharing in the joys of Eid.
