Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik has said Pakistan seeks to strengthen its strategic energy partnership with Saudi Aramco and Saudi Arabia.
According to details released on Thursday, the minister held a meeting with Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki in Islamabad. Both sides agreed to further strengthen energy cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Discussions were held on energy security and refinery upgradation options.

A statement said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were working on various investment projects and prospects for refinery upgradation. It added that technical-level consultations had made positive progress regarding long-term cooperation.
Ali Pervaiz Malik said Pakistan was keen to expand strategic energy cooperation, particularly with Saudi Aramco.
The Saudi ambassador appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting peace and regional stability in the region.
The petroleum minister said Pakistan was grateful to Saudi Arabia for giving special priority to petroleum supplies for the country.
According to the statement, the Saudi ambassador assured full support to Pakistan in addressing energy security challenges.
Ali Pervaiz Malik said the government was taking steps to meet the energy needs of the people.
