The federal government has increased the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel once again.
According to details surfaced on Thursday, the petrol price has been raised by Rs6.51 per litre to Rs399.86. High-speed diesel has been increased by Rs19.39 per litre. A notification regarding the revised petroleum prices has been issued.
The new prices will take effect from midnight. High-speed diesel has been fixed at Rs399.58 per litre.
Moreover, kerosene oil price has been reduced by Rs4.45 per litre, according to a notification issued by OGRA. The new price of kerosene has been fixed at Rs360.76 per litre. Previously, kerosene oil was priced at Rs365.21 per litre.
The government has also increased the petroleum levy on diesel. A levy of Rs28.69 per litre has been imposed on diesel, while the previous levy rate was zero.
The levy on petrol has been reduced by Rs3.88 per litre, from Rs107.38 to Rs103.50 per litre.
Separately, the Petroleum Division has dismissed reports concerning the closure of petrol pumps from May 1 as baseless. Officials stated that the supply of petroleum products across the country will continue without interruption.
The public has been urged to avoid rumours and refrain from spreading misinformation.
It was further stated that, despite tensions and the outbreak of conflict in the Middle East, petroleum supply in Pakistan has remained stable and will continue to be ensured.
Meanwhile, the Oil Companies Advisory Council stated that petrol pumps will remain open across the country. It was said that 28 days of petrol stock and 34 days of diesel stock are available.
Reports regarding any strike were termed as baseless, and the public was requested not to pay heed to such claims.
