Karachi Kings captain David Warner struck an unbeaten and commanding innings to guide his side to a comfortable nine-wicket victory over Quetta Gladiators in the 37th match of the Pakistan Super League at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Saturday.
Chasing a formidable target of 196, Karachi reached 199 for one in 18.3 overs, completing the task with nine balls to spare in a one-sided contest. Warner remained unbeaten on 89 from 48 balls, while Reeza Hendricks supported with an equally fluent 87 not out off 48 deliveries.
The pair shared an unbroken stand of 141 runs from 79 balls, making the pursuit appear straightforward against a struggling Gladiators attack.
Earlier, Quetta Gladiators posted 195 for six in their allotted 20 overs. Rilee Rossouw led the scoring with 90 off 54 balls, while captain Saud Shakeel added 57 from 34 deliveries. Their 148-run partnership, however, failed to secure victory.
Hasan Ali, Abbas Afridi and Rizwanullah took two wickets each for Karachi Kings.
Warner was named player of the match for his decisive contribution, which ensured Karachi Kings remain in contention for a place in the playoffs.
