Karachi Kings fast bowler Hasan Ali has expressed optimism about his side’s revival following the return of regular captain David Warner for te remaining fixtures of the ongoing 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Speaking in an exclusive interview to Samaa TV, Ali, who has represented Pakistan across all three formats, said cricket remained both his passion and his livelihood. He added that whenever given an opportunity, he sought to deliver a strong performance and make a return to the national side.
Ali said that the PSL had played a role in shaping many careers. He conceded that while the team secured victories in Lahore, their performance in Karachi fell short, with failures across all three departments. He expressed confidence that the side would improve with Warner’s return.
The fast bowler said his focus remained on hard work and performance, adding that selection matters were beyond his control. He remarked that others might have performed better to secure a place in the team, stressing that he bore no ill will over his omission.
Reflecting on his recent Test outings, Ali admitted his last 10 to 11 matches had not met expectations, but he remained encouraged after being considered for the Bangladesh series. He termed India’s Jasprit Bumrah as the finest bowler across all formats.
Ali observed that criticism was part of the game and players must be prepared for it, though he maintained that criticism should not extend to families.
He also spoke about Sarfaraz Ahmed’s appointment as head coach, saying he held both respect and apprehension towards his strict approach. Ali said he was eager to work under Sarfaraz, who had previously led the side as captain, and praised his diligence.
Ali hoped that Pakistan would secure victory in the forthcoming series against Bangladesh.
