A new music platform, Humnava, has launched its first release from Season 1 with the song 'Hairan Amanam', offering audiences a cross-cultural musical project rooted in the scenic Hunza Valley.
Curated in Hunza, the initiative is co-founded by music producer Xulfi and Muhammad Ibrahim and is conceived as a global music and art movement aimed at connecting artists from around the world through collaboration and shared creative expression.
Season 1 of Humnava brings together more than 30 musicians and collaborators from Pakistan and countries, including France, Germany, Algeria, Zambia, and regions within Hunza.
The project was developed during an intensive music camp where artists lived and worked together, composing and recording music in a collaborative environment.
Organizers say the platform seeks to position Pakistan as a hub for global cultural exchange and artistic innovation, promoting creative independence and cross-border collaboration.
The debut track, 'Hairan Amanam', is a Burushaski-language composition whose title translates to “I am in awe.” The song was recorded live in Hunza and features young artists Rizwan Abbas and Maheen Sattar, alongside international musicians, including contributors from Germany and Algeria.
Produced by Xulfi, the track blends traditional and contemporary sounds, incorporating instruments such as rubab, acoustic and electric guitars, flutes, and electronic synth elements. The composition explores themes of love, transformation, and awe, reflecting the emotional impact of deep human connection.
The song’s writing credits include Zulfiqar Ali Khan Bercha, with composition by Xulfi, Bercha, and Fahim Uddin Hunzai. The accompanying video is directed by Aamir Mughal.
Following this release, Humnava Season 1 will continue with upcoming tracks including “Noor-e-Nazar,” “Qataghani,” “Holoyor,” “Sway,” “Lost in Love,” “Koi Achi Khabar,” “Isketa,” and “Darmaan,” forming the first chapter of a broader artistic journey focused on cross-border musical collaboration and cultural connection.
