Hunain Shah (3-18) and Mohammad Ali (3-21) delivered decisive spells, while Irfan Niazi’s unbeaten 34 off 29 balls guided Hyderabad Kingsmen to a five-wicket victory over Rawalpindiz in the 24th match of the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League at the Karachi stadium on Thursday.
Rawalpindiz, put in to bat, posted 121 for nine in their allotted 20 overs. Yasir Khan top-scored with 24, while Sam Billings contributed 26. Hunain Shah and Mohammad Ali claimed three wickets apiece to restrict the innings, with regular wickets halting any momentum.
In reply, Hyderabad Kingsmen chased down the 122-run target in 16.3 overs for the loss of five wickets. Marnus Labuschagne struck 32, while Kusal Perera remained unbeaten on 32. Irfan Niazi anchored the chase with a composed unbeaten 34, ensuring victory with 21 balls to spare.
Rawalpindiz suffered their sixth successive defeat in the competition, failing to register a win in the tournament thus far.
