Senior Pakistani drama actor Faysal Quraishi has responded in his trademark humorous style to not receiving the prestigious government award, Sitara-e-Imtiaz, a reaction that is now going viral on social media.
In a recent interview, when asked whether he expects to receive the award soon, Quraishi jokingly said he might stand outside a supermarket named “Imtiaz” and complain that he hasn’t received his “Sitara.”
The actor also revealed that his name had been submitted twice for the honor, but approval was never granted, despite his 33-year-long career in the entertainment industry.
When the host asked seriously what might be missing, Quraishi quipped that perhaps he lacks calcium, which is why the award hasn’t been given, causing laughter in the studio.
Faysal Quraishi added that while fans continue to send recommendations for him to receive the Sitara-e-Imtiaz, he considers himself a patriotic citizen rather than a political figure. He concluded that if he is ever awarded in the future, he would gladly accept it.
