The quarterly increase in toll plaza fees has been suspended on the directive of the Prime Minister.
Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan issued instructions to the National Highway Authority to withdraw the notification. He said that in the present situation, no further burden could be placed on citizens.
Abdul Aleem Khan announced that the increase in toll tax, due to take effect from April 5, had been suspended.
He said the public was already facing difficulties due to rising petrol and diesel prices, adding that all possible steps would be taken to ease their hardship on the prime minister’s directive. He said the circumstances were difficult, but the nation could face the situation with unity.
On the instructions of the federal minister for Communications, the notification issued by the NHA on April 1 has been suspended.
