The Pakistan national hockey team has secured qualification for the Hockey World Cup for the first time in eight years, following a thrilling semifinal win at the qualifiers in Egypt.
Pakistan faced Japan in the semifinal match. Muhammad Imad scored in the first quarter, giving Pakistan an early lead. By the end of the third quarter, Japan was ahead 3-1. However, Pakistan mounted an impressive comeback in the fourth quarter, with goals from Abu Bakr Mahmood, Afraz, and Sufyan Khan, turning the match around to win 4-3.
Goalkeeper Ali Raza played a crucial role in the final moments by saving a Japanese penalty stroke, securing Pakistan’s victory.
This triumph ensures Pakistan’s return to the Hockey World Cup for the first time since 2018, delighting fans and marking a significant milestone for the team.
