Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and Member of the National Assembly Shehla Raza has said that Rana Mujahid, Shehbaz Senior and Asif Bajwa inflicted serious damage on Pakistan hockey.
She stated that the names of those involved in corruption had been placed on the Exit Control List. She further alleged that Pakistan Olympic Association President Khalid Mahmood was also responsible for the destruction of the Hockey Federation.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi alongside hockey Olympians, Shehla urged the prime minister to see which office-bearers of the Pakistan Olympic Association were “stabbing sports in the back”. She called for action against what she termed as the “black sheep” within the Pakistan Olympic set-up.
She said the former federation would impose bans on anyone at will.
Shehla appealed to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif not to allow former president Tariq Bugti, former secretary Rana Mujahid, Shehbaz Senior and Asif Bajwa to leave the country.
She questioned how the Pakistan Sports Board had recognised Shehbaz Senior as the federation’s representative for elections, asking whether the Board was unaware of his alleged corruption and misconduct.
