Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developer Digital Eclipse have confirmed the final line-up of Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection, which features several long-unavailable titles and newly introduced gameplay features.
According to the video games website IGN, the collection includes "Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero and Mortal Kombat Special Forces", two PlayStation-era titles that remained inaccessible for decades. A version of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, previously unplayable since 1997, also appears in the release.
Warner Bros. explained that this version is the WaveNet edition, originally created to support Midway's arcade-based WaveNet online matchmaking service. It marked the only arcade release to feature Noob Saibot as a selectable character. Digital Eclipse has now emulated and preserved the edition for the first time.
The publisher also confirmed that "Mortal Kombat Trilogy" has been optimised for modern platforms. The game now offers significantly reduced load times, aimed at delivering a faster and smoother user experience.
Additional features in "Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection" include a Rewind function to provide a more accessible gameplay experience, on-screen move lists, and a Trainer mode designed to assist players in perfecting their combinations. A dedicated Fatality Trainer has been introduced to help players master each character’s finishing moves.
The digital version of "Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection" is scheduled for release in 2025 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. A specific release date has not yet been announced.
Physical editions will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, PC, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Warner Bros. has set 12 December 2025 as the shipping date for these versions.
