The Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) on Monday called for an investigation into the issue of fake injections and urged the Punjab government to take action against those responsible.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Ms Awan emphasised that it is the government's duty to ensure that the public receives standard and effective healthcare.
"In Punjab, numerous patients have experienced vision loss due to fake injections and administrative incompetence. The IPP insists that the Punjab government should exhaust all available resources to assist the affected individuals," Ms Awan lamented.
Awan pointed out that counterfeit injections and medications have previously harmed hundreds of patients in Punjab.
"The IPP is demanding a thorough investigation by the Punjab government and strict measures against those involved in this disgraceful trade," she added.
– Believes in democracy –
Last week, Ms Awan said that her party believes in democracy.
Addressing a press conference, Ms Awan said, "It is at the top of our priorities to address the masses’ problems."
Speaking about the flood-hit people, Ms Awan said: "IPP patron-in-chief Jahangir Khan Tareen has extended his support to the flood-stricken people. The IPP will continue to stand by the flood-hit people."
Meanwhile, expressing his thoughts following the party’s CEC meeting, IPP leader Ishaq Khakwani said: "The general elections should be held after the delimitations. Our party represents the masses’ expectations in the real context."
