The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain in parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, while intense heat is expected to persist in upper Sindh and southern Balochistan.
Most parts of the country are expected to experience hot and dry weather, although the has forecast rain in isolated areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
The PMD has said that weather in Islamabad is likely to remain hot and partly cloudy today, with a possibility of rain.
Rain is expected at isolated locations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Bajaur, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Mansehra and Abbottabad.
The PMD has also forecast rain at isolated places in Punjab districts including Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Wazirabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot and Narowal.
Weather across most districts of Sindh is expected to remain hot and dry, while severe heat is likely to continue in upper Sindh.
Most areas of Balochistan are expected to remain dry. However, rain may occur at isolated locations in Zhob, Sherani, Barkhan and Musa Khel.
Meanwhile, heavy rain began in Muzaffarabad and surrounding areas, bringing relief from the heat and making the weather pleasant.
Rain was also reported in various parts of Neelum Valley and Jhelum Valley.
The PMD has forecast hot and dry weather across most districts of Balochistan during the next 24 hours, with intense heat likely to persist in the southern districts.
According to the PMD, the maximum temperature recorded in Quetta was 38 degrees Celsius, while Kalat recorded 33 degrees Celsius.
Sibi remained the hottest city in the province, where the maximum temperature reached 48 degrees Celsius. The mercury rose to 47 degrees Celsius in Turbat.
Meteorological data showed that Nokkundi recorded a maximum temperature of 44 degrees Celsius, while Chaman recorded 37 degrees Celsius.
The PMD has advised citizens to avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight during periods of intense heat, drink plenty of water and take precautionary measures, particularly for children, elderly people and those suffering from illness.
