Lahore Police has introduced a stricter social media policy for police officers in a bid to prevent misuse of authority, intimidation through police uniforms and inappropriate online conduct.
Under the new order, SHOs, inspectors, sub-inspectors and ASIs have been directed to remove offensive images from their personal social media accounts.
Lahore Police has implemented a new policy aimed at preventing intimidation through police uniform and misuse of powers. The order applies to SHOs, inspectors, sub-inspectors and assistant sub-inspectors.
Police officials have been instructed to review their personal social media accounts and remove any offensive pictures already posted online.
Ban on offensive content on personal accounts
According to the new order, police officers will not be allowed to post offensive pictures on personal Facebook, Instagram and TikTok accounts. The directive also bans officers from uploading pictures and videos of personal activities while wearing police uniform.
Officials said the move is intended to ensure discipline and prevent the police uniform from being used inappropriately on social media platforms.
Uniform content allowed only on official accounts
Lahore Police has clarified that pictures and videos in police uniform can only be shared through official accounts. Officers have been warned against using personal profiles to upload uniform-related content, especially videos or images connected to private activities.
The restriction applies to all relevant officers covered under the new order.
Officials said departmental action will be taken against police officers who violate the policy. Any officer found uploading pictures or videos on personal accounts while wearing police uniform may face disciplinary proceedings.
