Election activities in Gilgit-Baltistan have entered the final phase, with only two days left for polling and the campaign set to end at 12 midnight tonight.
Political parties and candidates are making their last push through rallies, corner meetings, public gatherings and power shows across Gilgit, Skardu, Diamer, Ghizer, Hunza and Ganche.
According to the Election Commission, there will be a complete ban on election campaigning after 12 midnight. Rallies, processions, corner meetings and other campaign activities will not be allowed after the deadline.
The Election Commission has warned that action will be taken against any candidate who violates the decision.
614 political activities held so far
Political activities have remained in full swing across Gilgit-Baltistan during the general election campaign. According to official details, 614 political activities have been held by different political parties from May 1, 2026, till today.
These activities included public meetings, corner meetings, inauguration ceremonies, political processions and the establishment of election offices.
The campaign included 217 public meetings and inauguration ceremonies, 243 election and important office inaugurations, 92 political processions and 62 large public meetings.
Officials said the law and order situation across Gilgit-Baltistan is satisfactory and fully under control.
Gilgit district voter details
In Gilgit district, the total number of voters stands at 158,714 across four constituencies.
GBA-15 Gilgit Constituency 1 has 44,526 voters.
GBA-16 Gilgit Constituency 2 has 46,282 voters.
GBA-17 Gilgit Constituency 3 has 41,045 voters.
GBA-18 Gilgit Constituency 4 has 26,861 voters.
Questions are now being discussed locally about who the strongest candidates are in Gilgit’s constituencies and how intense the contest has become in each area.
Diamer sees highest number of voters
Diamer district has the highest number of voters in Gilgit-Baltistan. The total population of Diamer district is 337,329, and political activity there has reached its peak.
Constituency Tangir 4 in Diamer has become the centre of election activities, with political turmoil and campaign excitement at their highest level.
Political parties are holding rallies, meetings and corner meetings across Diamer, while candidates continue presenting their manifestos and proposed solutions to local problems.
Party offices are witnessing a rush of workers, while streets and markets are decorated with flags, banners and flexes of different political parties.
24 political parties in election race
A total of 24 political parties are participating in the Gilgit-Baltistan election process. As polling day approaches, candidates and party workers have intensified their campaign activities across the region.
The final day of campaigning is being used by parties to demonstrate their political strength before the silence period begins.
In Skardu, the election campaign has entered its final phase, and political activity by candidates and workers has intensified. Different political parties are expected to demonstrate their strength on the last day of the campaign.
Election activities have also reached their peak in GB-10 Skardu 4.
Various political parties and candidates have stepped up campaign efforts, while the constituency headquarters has been decorated with party flags. Workers appear highly enthusiastic as the campaign nears its deadline.
According to the Election Commission schedule, campaigning in the constituency will end after midnight tonight. The weather in the constituency has also become pleasant, with rain after intense heat adding to public enthusiasm.
A close contest is expected in GB-10 Skardu 4.
Ghizer, Hunza see last-day power shows
In Ghizer, political parties and candidates have intensified their election campaigns on the final day. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawa is scheduled to hold a power show in Ishkoman Tehsil today.
In Hunza, the Gilgit-Baltistan elections have also entered their final stage. The election campaign there will end at 12 midnight, while candidates’ activities are at their peak.
Power shows by various political parties continue, and workers and supporters remain enthusiastic.
In Ganche, candidates are making their final efforts before the campaign ends at midnight. A total of 97,463 voters will exercise their right to vote in the district’s three constituencies.
Security arrangements have been tightened to ensure peaceful elections.
Several polling stations have been declared sensitive, including 26 most sensitive polling stations, 39 sensitive polling stations and 89 normal polling stations.
Final push before polling
With campaign time running out, Gilgit-Baltistan’s political atmosphere remains charged.
Candidates are making their last appeals to voters, political workers are active in party offices and public gatherings continue across several districts.
