The government has taken a major step to protect children from online threats by deciding to introduce cyber security training from an early age.
The National Cyber Emergency Response Team has launched the Junior Cyber Defender Programme. The special initiative has been designed for children aged between seven and 14 years. Participants will receive guidance on protection against cyber threats, safeguarding personal information and identifying online risks.
According to officials, the course also includes safe use of social media and principles of online gaming to help children remain active in the digital world with responsibility and caution.
Children who complete the programme will receive an official certificate issued by National CERT.
