Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has announced that the federal budget will be presented on June 10, while expressing optimism about a potential agreement between the United States and Iran during ongoing diplomatic engagements.
Talking to Samaa TV’s program Nadeem Malik Live, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry confirmed that the federal budget will be presented on June 10.
He said that no major legislation is being introduced before the budget session, emphasizing that government focus remains on financial planning and economic priorities.
Remarks on political situation
The minister also made remarks regarding political developments, stating that if interference occurs, the “Sohail Afridi government” could collapse within two days.
He further noted increasing tensions between political groups, including the Ali Amin and Sohail Afridi factions.
Pakistan’s diplomatic role highlighted
Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said Pakistan’s diplomatic role during the Iran–US tensions was widely appreciated internationally.
He claimed that former US President Donald Trump acknowledged that a ceasefire extension took place at the request of Pakistan’s leadership, including the Prime Minister and Field Marshal.
The minister expressed hope that a final agreement between the United States and Iran could be reached, adding that the last round of talks may be held in Islamabad.
He said Pakistan’s leadership is ready to benefit from diplomatic progress and ensure national stability and development.
According to Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, improved relations between Iran and the US would work in Pakistan’s favor, while key decisions regarding outcomes rest with policymakers.
