The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday honoured legendary superfan Chaudhry Abdul Jalil, popularly known as Chacha Cricket, celebrating his decades-long passion and loyalty to Pakistan cricket.
His final appearance is expected during the closing ODI against Australia at Gaddafi Stadium on Thursday.
The PCB shared a commemorative banner featuring Chacha Cricket alongside a collage of his most memorable moments.
Accompanying the tribute was a simple but emotional message: “Thank you, Chacha Cricket.”
In a social media post, the board described him as “more than a fan” and “a symbol of unwavering support for Pakistan cricket,” adding gratitude for his lifelong passion, memories, and loyalty.

Born on October 8, 1949, in Sialkot, Chaudhry Abdul Jalil first gained prominence during Pakistan’s high-profile clash against India in Sharjah in 1986.
His vibrant presence in the stands quickly made him a crowd favourite, marking the beginning of his iconic journey.
Dressed in his signature green shalwar kameez, white beard, and star-and-crescent cap, Chacha Cricket became instantly recognisable across stadiums worldwide.
He was later officially associated with the PCB in 1996, further cementing his status as a national cricket icon.

Chacha Cricket’s dedication went far beyond cheering from the stands.
Reports suggest he left a well-paying job in the United Arab Emirates and even sold personal belongings to fund his travel so he could follow the Pakistan team globally.
