Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 will be presented in the second week of June.
According to officials in Peshawar, Advisor to the Finance Minister Muzammil Aslam is expected to present the provincial budget on either June 10 or June 13.
Budget preparation is currently underway in different sections of the KP Finance Department. Officials said the provincial budget will be finalized after the federal budget is presented.
Sindh completes annual development preparation
Meanwhile, the Sindh government has completed preparations for its annual development budget for the fiscal year 2026-27.
Sources said the proposed overall annual development program for the province is under consideration at more than Rs900 billion. The total development program volume for the current fiscal year was Rs1,018 billion.
According to sources, Sindh has proposed allocating Rs522 billion for the annual development program for the next fiscal year. For the current fiscal year, the annual development program volume was around Rs520 billion to Rs522 billion.
Officials said the new proposal keeps the provincial ADP broadly in line with the current year’s allocation.
Sources said Rs296 billion has been proposed for foreign aid-funded development projects in Sindh. In the current fiscal year, Rs367 billion had been allocated under the foreign project assistance program.
The proposed amount for foreign-funded projects is therefore lower than the current year’s allocation.
PSDP allocation likely at Rs50bn to Rs60bn
The Sindh government is also considering an allocation of Rs50 billion to Rs60 billion under the public sector development program.
For the current fiscal year, the PSDP allocation stood at Rs76 billion. Officials said the proposed PSDP amount remains under review as budget discussions continue.
Sources said the district annual development program is proposed at Rs50 billion for the next fiscal year. The DADP had been proposed at Rs55 billion in the current fiscal year.
The district-level allocation will support development schemes across Sindh’s districts.
Provincial development program
The provincial development program is also being reviewed as part of Sindh’s budget planning. Sources said Rs50 billion to Rs55 billion is proposed for the provincial development program.
For the current fiscal year, Rs5 billion had been allocated under this head.
