The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has formed a six-member leadership committee in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after internal and political differences intensified within the party’s provincial ranks.
PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Junaid Khan has established the committee at the provincial level to address internal divisions and political disagreements.
An official announcement regarding the formation of the committee has been issued.
The move comes as PTI faces growing coordination challenges among its members of parliament, parliamentary party and provincial government.
Former National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser will head the six-member committee. The committee includes KP Assembly Speaker Babar Saleem Swati and PTI Provincial General Secretary Ali Asghar Khan. Provincial ministers Mina Khan and Akbar Ayub, along with PTI Peshawar Region President Atif Khan, are also part of the committee.
Committee to improve party-government coordination
According to the official announcement, the committee will work to improve coordination between members of parliament, the parliamentary party and the provincial government.
It will also act as a platform to strengthen communication and resolve political misunderstandings within PTI’s KP chapter.
The leadership committee will also serve as a consultative forum for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Khan, the PTI provincial president and Tehreek-e-Tahafuz Ain.
Party officials say the committee has been tasked with playing a bridging role at a time when internal and political differences have become more visible in the province.
