The Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) has stepped up its election campaign in Hunza district of Gilgit-Baltistan as political activity gathers pace ahead of the polls.
Electioneering in Hunza has reached a peak, with political parties intensifying efforts to secure public support. IPP candidate Eiman Shah said Hunza had received little beyond deprivation, disappointment and unfulfilled promises in the past.
He said the people of Hunza had given the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) five opportunities to govern, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) three terms, and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) five years in power, yet the district remained among the most underdeveloped areas of Gilgit-Baltistan in health, education and basic infrastructure.
Eiman Shah said the people of Hunza had consistently supported positive politics and added that the large number of young people joining the IPP reflected a public desire for change and development.
He maintained that growing youth participation in the party highlighted increasing confidence in the IPP’s vision for the future of the region.
