Pakistani airlines and aviation companies have received major relief after the government reduced the price of jet fuel used by large aircraft by Rs48.80 per litre.
Aviation sources say the reduction may lead to a decrease in airline fares across the country.
The price of jet fuel used in large aircraft has been reduced by Rs48.80 per litre. After the latest cut, the new price of jet fuel in the country has come down to Rs283.52 per litre.
The move is being seen as major relief for Pakistani airlines and aviation companies, which have faced rising operational costs due to expensive fuel.
Airfares may decrease
Aviation sources said the reduction in jet fuel prices could create room for airlines to lower fares. Fuel is one of the biggest costs for airlines, and a decline in jet fuel prices may ease pressure on domestic and international flight operations.
