Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif underwent a major surgery at Sharif Medical City Hospital and has now been shifted home after treatment, according to Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb.
Despite being hospitalized, Maryam Nawaz continued supervising key provincial matters on Eid, including security and cleanliness arrangements across Punjab.
Aurangzeb confirmed that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif underwent a major surgical procedure at Sharif Medical City Hospital. She said the Punjab chief minister has now been discharged from the hospital and shifted home.

“Alhamdulillah, Maryam Nawaz has been shifted home after the hospital,” Maryam Aurangzeb said in her statement.
According to the PML-N, Maryam Nawaz was suffering from severe throat pain and underwent a throat surgery at the hospital a few days ago.
CM monitored Punjab affairs
According to Marriyum Aurangzeb, Maryam Nawaz remained actively involved in overseeing government affairs despite undergoing surgery.
On the occasion of Eid, the chief minister directly supervised important provincial matters from the hospital. These included monitoring security arrangements, cleanliness operations and other administrative affairs across Punjab.
Marriyum also said that on the instructions of the CM, state-of-the-art technology was utilised for cleanliness and security operations on Eid day.

"Through the joint collaboration of the Safe City Authority and Suthra Punjab, comprehensive monitoring of densely populated areas, narrow alleys, and markets was conducted using drone cameras," she added in her post on X.
Punjab authorities remained focused on maintaining cleanliness and ensuring security arrangements during Eid celebrations under the chief minister’s supervision.
