Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif telephoned senior government officials and political leaders to extend Eid-ul-Azha greetings and stressed the need to ensure maximum public relief during the festive period.
According to details released on Wednesday, the prime minister spoke separately with President Asif Ali Zardari, the governors of Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as well as the speakers and chief ministers of various provinces.
The prime minister also held a telephone conversation with the chief minister of Gilgit-Baltistan and conveyed Eid greetings.
PM Shehbaz contacted Abdul Aleem Khan, Khalid Magsi and Aftab Sherpao on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
During the conversations, the prime minister prayed for peace, progress, prosperity and stability in Pakistan, and expressed hope for greater national unity and harmony.
The country’s overall political situation also came under discussion. The leaders emphasised the importance of effective coordination and mutual cooperation between the federation and the provinces.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said all possible measures would continue to provide relief to the public, adding that the federal government would work closely with all provinces and federating units to achieve the objective.
