The latest ICC Test rankings brought contrasting news for Pakistan and Bangladesh, with Bangladeshi players making notable gains while some Pakistani cricketers slipped in the batting and bowling charts.
Bangladesh’s experienced batter Mushfiqur Rahim made a significant jump in the latest ICC Test batting rankings. Mushfiqur rose 10 places to reach 16th position among Test batsmen, marking one of the major upward moves in the rankings update.
In the bowling rankings, Bangladesh’s Naheed Rana also gained ground. He climbed 10 places to move up to 54th position among Test bowlers.
Pakistani bowlers face decline
Pakistan’s Nouman Ali dropped two places in the ICC Test bowling rankings. After the latest update, Nouman Ali moved down to 7th position among Test bowlers.
Shaheen Shah Afridi also slipped in the rankings. The left-arm pacer moved from 24th to 26th position.
Mixed results for Pakistan batters
Pakistan’s batting rankings showed mixed movement in the latest ICC update. Saud Shakeel suffered the biggest decline among Pakistani batters, dropping 10 places to 26th position.
Babar Azam, however, moved up one place and reached 22nd position in the Test batting rankings. Salman Agha also improved his ranking, rising two places to 27th position among batsmen.
Rankings reflect contrasting momentum
The latest ICC Test rankings highlight a strong rise for Bangladesh players, particularly Mushfiqur Rahim and Naheed Rana.
For Pakistan, the update was mixed, with Nouman Ali, Shaheen Afridi and Saud Shakeel losing ground, while Babar Azam and Salman Agha registered slight improvements.
