A decision has been taken to shift alleged drug dealer Anmol alias Pinky to the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) for medical treatment.
According to details surfaced on Tuesday, the Sindh Home Department has issued a letter regarding the accused’s transfer to hospital and security arrangements. The arrested woman, who has been nominated in 23 cases, will be transported to the hospital under strict security.
The letter stated that extraordinary security measures were indispensable for Anmol Pinky’s movement outside prison and requested the authorities concerned to ensure the prisoner’s safe custody and transfer.
It is pertinent to mention that investigations against the alleged “cocaine queen” Anmol alias Pinky have revealed suspected money laundering worth millions of rupees and dubious financial transactions through digital forensic evidence and an initial financial audit report. The scope of the inquiry has since been widened.
Sources said corporate figures, well-known actors and certain senior government officials may also be included in the investigation. The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has intensified contact with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) and relevant banks.
Investigators also found that transactions amounting to millions of rupees were carried out through various bank accounts linked to Anmol alias Pinky over the past one and a half years. Nearly Rs30 million was allegedly transferred from a single account alone.
An amount of approximately Rs29.4 million, allegedly obtained from cocaine customers, was transferred to different bank accounts. Documents showed transfers of hundreds of thousands of rupees into accounts belonging to various individuals, including business and overseas accounts. The investigation team has also sought further financial records from the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
