The Lahore High Court has granted protective bail to Hamza Habib, fiancé of social media personality Momina Iqbal, in a case related to alleged threats against Saqib Chadhar.
The court directed Hamza Habib to approach the relevant court by June 1.
Justice Abhar Gul heard the petition and granted protective bail to Hamza Habib until June 1. The suspect appeared before the court along with Momina Iqbal’s sister Rimsha Iqbal and lawyer Hasnain Manj.
Jhang police had registered a case against Hamza Habib over alleged threats made to Chadhar. During the hearing and later while speaking to the media, Hamza Habib claimed the FIR filed against him was false.
Hamza Habib claims Momina is his wife
Talking to reporters outside the Lahore High Court, Hamza Habib said he is married to Momina Iqbal.
“Momina Iqbal is my wife and she is my red line,” he said, adding that he would not leave her under any circumstances.
Hamza alleged that Chadhar first contacted him and asked him to back away from Momina. He claimed Chadhar told him he would be given wealth in return for ending the relationship.
“Saqib Chadhar cannot buy me,” Hamza Habib said while rejecting the allegations against him.
Lawyer thanks Punjab govt
Momina Iqbal’s sister Rimsha Iqbal thanked Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for providing security.
She claimed that she had no contact with Saqib Chadhar for the last two and a half years and alleged that harassment began after Momina’s marriage was fixed.
