The government has revised petroleum product prices, increasing the rates of kerosene oil, light diesel and jet fuel by more than Rs1 per litre.
According to an official notification, the revised fuel prices have been implemented immediately.
The government increased the price of kerosene oil by Rs1.71 per litre. Following the increase, the new price of kerosene has been raised from Rs311.73 to Rs313.44 per litre.
Light diesel becomes more expensive
The price of light diesel has also been increased by Rs1.62 per litre, according to the notification. After the revision, the new price of light diesel has gone up from Rs273.92 to Rs275.54 per litre.
Jet fuel price revised upward
Authorities also increased the price of jet fuel used in aircraft by Rs2.10 per litre. The new rate of jet fuel has been set at Rs332.32 per litre, compared to the previous price of Rs330.22 per litre.
Officials confirmed that all revised fuel prices have come into effect immediately. The latest increase comes amid continued fluctuations in global oil markets and rising energy costs.
