Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood is likely to be removed from leadership duties, with an official announcement expected shortly, according to sources.
The development comes ahead of Pakistan’s upcoming Test series against the West Indies, where a new captain is expected to take charge.
Sources suggest that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has already decided to end Shan Masood’s tenure as Test captain.
An official announcement is expected soon, with the board also preparing to begin consultations for selecting a new leader for the national side.
If Shan Masood does not step down voluntarily, the PCB is likely to formally announce his removal, sources added.
New captain expected for West Indies series
According to reports, Pakistan will appoint a new Test captain ahead of the series against the West Indies, which is scheduled to begin on July 25.
The change in leadership is expected to be finalized during the upcoming selection and consultation phase within the PCB.
