If a person discovers that even a single fly has accidentally been baked into a biscuit, they would most likely refuse to eat it.
According to details, however, a unique biscuit consumed in Japan contains not one or two but countless insects mixed into the flour, and it continues to attract enthusiastic customers.
The unusual biscuit, known as ‘Jibachi Senbei’, has gained worldwide attention due to its distinctive preparation. The biscuits are made by mixing large quantities of dried wasps into the dough before baking.
The biscuits first drew public attention during the mid-2010s, when a club of wasp enthusiasts named Omachi Jibachi Aikokukai joined hands with a local baker to prepare them.
The biscuits are sold in local markets in the Japanese city of Omachi, as well as in selected gourmet shops. Many tourists travel there specifically to sample the unusual delicacy.
