Petroleum prices in Pakistan recorded a sharp increase after the US-Iran war, rising significantly compared to several other countries.
According to official documents, diesel prices in Pakistan went up by around 48%, while petrol prices surged by up to 56% during the past two and a half months.
The report stated that diesel prices in Pakistan increased by 48% after the war. By comparison, diesel prices in the United States and Vietnam rose by 45%. The Philippines recorded a 43% increase, Sri Lanka 42%, and Australia 41%.
Diesel became 34% more expensive in the United Kingdom, 21% in Ghana, and 15% in Bangladesh.
Some countries saw even higher diesel hikes
The documents also showed that several countries recorded sharper increases than Pakistan. Diesel prices rose by 113% in Myanmar, 88% in New Zealand, 72% in the UAE, and 68% in Malaysia.
Singapore recorded a 62% increase in diesel prices, while Cambodia saw a 51% hike during the same two-and-a-half-month period.
Petrol prices surge 56% in Pakistan
Petrol prices in Pakistan increased by 56% since the US-Iran war, according to the report. In contrast, India recorded no increase in petrol prices during the past two and a half months.

Petrol prices rose by 11% in Singapore, 16% in Australia, 17% in Ghana, and 17% in Bangladesh. Vietnam recorded an 18% increase, while petrol prices in the United Kingdom went up by 19%.
Pakistan faces heavier fuel burden
The figures show that Pakistan’s petroleum prices rose sharply compared to several countries in the region. The increase in petrol and diesel prices is likely to add further pressure on consumers already facing high transport and living costs.
