Bangladesh’s victory over Pakistan in Mirpur has led to changes in the latest ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings.
According to details surfaced on Wednesday, Najmul Hossain Shanto has achieved a career-best 23rd position, moving up 16 places, and now shares the spot with Pakistan’s Babar Azam after scores of 101 and 87, which earned him the Player of the Match award.
Mushfiqur Rahim has risen to 26th position following scores of 71 and 22, while Mominul Haque has moved up 12 places to reach 35th after making 91 and 56.
Meanwhile, Pakistan debutants Abdullah Fazal and Azan Awais have entered the rankings at 75th and 82nd positions respectively.
In the bowling rankings, Taijul Islam has advanced from 16th to 13th position, while Nahid Rana has moved up five places to reach 64th after a five-wicket haul.
For Pakistan, Mohammad Abbas has re-entered the rankings at 28th position after taking five for 92 in the first innings.
Following the result, Bangladesh have moved above Pakistan in the ICC World Test Championship standings to sixth place with 44.44 percentage points, while Pakistan remain on two defeats from three matches.
