President Asif Ali Zardari has directed authorities to ensure relief for weaker sections of society in the upcoming federal budget, as senior government and Pakistan Peoples Party leaders met to discuss economic priorities for the next fiscal year.
An important consultative meeting on the upcoming fiscal year’s budget was held at the President House under the chairmanship of President Asif Ali Zardari.
The session reviewed the country’s overall economic situation, development priorities and measures aimed at public welfare.
The meeting was attended by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Syed Murad Ali Shah, Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Member National Assembly Syed Naveed Qamar, Senator Sherry Rehman, Senator Saleem Mandviwala, Dr. Asim Hussain, Dr. Tauqir Shah and the Finance Secretary.
Participants discussed multiple proposals related to economic management and future development planning.
Focus on public relief and economic stability
During the meeting, President Zardari stressed the importance of public welfare and economic stability in the upcoming budget.
He directed that special attention should be given to providing relief to weaker and financially vulnerable sections of society amid ongoing economic challenges.
Officials also discussed preparations for the federal budget for the upcoming fiscal year, which is expected to be presented in June.
