Details of petroleum levy collection over nine months were presented in the National Assembly, revealing that more than Rs1.2 trillion was collected from consumers.
According to the document, Rs1.205 trillion was collected from consumers in the form of petroleum levy during the nine-month period.
The document showed that Rs1.37 trillion was collected as petroleum levy in March, while the collection stood at Rs1.20 trillion in February.
In January, consumers paid Rs1.24 trillion under the petroleum levy. Last year, petroleum levy collection stood at Rs1.45 trillion in July and Rs1.15 trillion in August.

The collection was recorded at Rs1.11 trillion in September and Rs1.45 trillion in October.
According to the document, petroleum levy collection reached Rs1.51 trillion in November and Rs1.57 trillion in December.
The document also revealed that Rs35 billion has so far been collected from consumers under the climate support levy. The government has set a target of collecting Rs51 billion through the climate support levy.
