Light diesel oil has become cheaper after the government reduced its price by Rs21.70 per liter, bringing relief for consumers using the fuel.
However, jet fuel prices have increased sharply, raising concerns that airlines may pass on the higher cost to passengers through more expensive tickets.
The price of light diesel oil has been reduced by Rs21.70 per liter. After the reduction, the new price of light diesel oil has been fixed at Rs265.84 per liter.

Earlier, light diesel oil was priced at Rs287.54 per liter.
Jet fuel price increased by Rs53.11 per liter
Fuel used in aircraft has become more expensive by Rs53.11 per liter. After the increase, the new jet fuel price has been fixed at Rs441.66 per liter.
Previously, jet fuel was priced at Rs388.55 per liter.
The sharp rise in jet fuel prices is expected to increase operating costs for airlines. As a result, airlines are likely to make air tickets more expensive in the coming days.

On Friday night, the government increased the prices of petroleum products once again, with petrol becoming dearer by Rs14.92 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs15 per litre.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the new price of petrol has been fixed at Rs414.78 per litre, while high-speed diesel will cost Rs414.58 per litre.
