Former Pakistan captain Azhar Ali has been linked with the Scotland men’s cricket team in a consultancy role.
According to details surfaced on Friday, the Cricket Scotland has issued an announcement confirming his appointment. He will serve as a consultant for the Nepal tour. The Scotland side’s next assignment is the ICC CWCL2 series.
Scotland will face Nepal and the United States in League 2 fixtures. Azhar Ali has said that he is looking forward to working with the Scotland team. He said his early career included a long association with Scottish cricket. He added that he is keen to support the development of a talented squad.
Steve Snell, Head of Performance at Cricket Scotland, said the inclusion of Azhar Ali brings valuable international experience to the side.
He said Azhar Ali will provide a different perspective and strengthen the team environment during the tour.
