Bangladesh held a strong position against Pakistan at the close of play on the opening day of the first Test at the Shere Bangla National Stadium on Friday.
After electing to field first, Pakistan allowed Bangladesh to reach 301 for four in 85 overs. Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto struck 101 runs from 130 balls, while Mominul Haque made 91 before he was dismissed lbw by Noman Ali.
Mushfiqur Rahim remained unbeaten on 48 at stumps, with Litton Das not out on eight.
Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Abbas, Hasan Ali and Noman Ali claimed one wicket each for Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi arrived at the stadium during his two-day visit to Bangladesh.
Officials of the Bangladesh Cricket Board received the PCB chairman on his arrival.
Mohsin Naqvi watched the first day’s play between Pakistan and Bangladesh. PSL chief Salman Naseer and other officials were also present.
