Cambridge International has cancelled the leaked AS Level Mathematics 9709/12 exam paper and announced that it will not be used for students’ results.
According to a statement issued by Cambridge International, affected students will now sit a new exam on June 9.
Cambridge said no additional fee will be charged from students or schools for the replacement paper. The examination body added that more details will be shared with schools by May 15.
Results date remains unchanged
Despite the cancellation and rescheduled exam, Cambridge International said the results date will remain unchanged. The results are still expected to be announced on August 11, 2026.
Cambridge said it has launched an investigation in cooperation with law enforcement agencies to determine how the paper was leaked.
The organisation said strict action will be taken against those involved in the paper leak.
Warning against sharing exam material
Cambridge International warned that anyone found sharing exam material may face serious consequences. Those involved may be permanently banned, the statement said.
Cambridge has advised students to continue appearing in their remaining examinations as scheduled. The decision comes as affected candidates and schools await further instructions on the June 9 replacement exam.
