The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has banned temporary mechanical swings in Lahore on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha to ensure the safety of citizens visiting parks and recreational spots.
The authority said safety measures, cleanliness arrangements, and civic amenities will be closely monitored throughout the Eid holidays.
The move has been taken to protect citizens, especially families and children, who are expected to visit parks in large numbers during the holidays.
Officials said the ban is part of wider steps to provide a safe and organized recreational environment.
Fitness certificate mandatory
The PHA has also made fitness certificates mandatory for permanent swings installed in gardens and parks. According to the PHA director general, every swing must meet proper safety standards before being allowed for public use.
The authority said no compromise will be made on public safety during Eid celebrations.
District agencies will ensure implementation of the Home Department’s notification regarding safety arrangements. The PHA said coordination among departments will be strengthened to make sure the ban and safety rules are properly enforced.
A decision has also been taken to maintain constant communication between PHA officers and the district administration.
PHA officials will remain on duty during Eid-ul-Adha to monitor parks and public recreational spaces. They have been instructed to pay special attention to cleanliness and civic amenities in parks.
