The Punjab Assembly has passed the Punjab Film City Authority Bill 2026 by a majority vote.
Speaking during the Punjab Assembly session, Punjab senior minister Marriyum Aurangzeb presented the bill in the House for approval. She said the Punjab Film City Authority Bill would promote film, tourism and production infrastructure across the province.

She said the education budget had risen from Rs30 billion to Rs130 billion, with no parallel in schools, colleges and the wider education sector. She said the health development budget had increased from Rs15 billion to Rs100 billion. More than 100,000 farmers have received funds under the Kissan Card scheme, with 99 per cent of cards issued, she said.
She said 20,000 tractors had been distributed and 30,000 more were in process, while the agriculture budget stood at Rs80 billion, the highest in 20 years.
The Punjab senior minister has praised the role of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Field Marshal in securing Pakistan’s efforts towards a US-Iran ceasefire.
