Security forces foiled a terrorist attack on police stations in the Dhadar area of Balochistan’s Kachhi district late at night, officials said.
One terrorist was killed in the exchange of fire, while one ATF official was martyred and four others were injured.
According to officials, terrorists attacked police stations in Kachhi district using hand grenades and modern weapons. Police, CTD and other security personnel responded immediately and repelled the assault after an exchange of fire.
One terrorist was killed at the scene, while officials said several other terrorists were also killed during the operation.
ATF official martyred, four injured
During the attack, one ATF official embraced martyrdom while four personnel were injured.
Deputy Home Minister Balochistan Babar Yousafzai said the martyrs and injured personnel risked their lives to foil the attack. He said several terrorists were killed in the incident, adding that the fleeing attackers took the bodies of their accomplices with them and left one body behind at the site.
Yousafzai said the pursuit and suppression of anti-state elements would continue. He praised the security personnel for their courage and said their timely response prevented a major tragedy in the area.
PM pays tribute to police, CTD
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the police and CTD for foiling the attack by Fitna-ul-Hindustan terrorists in Balochistan. He said Balochistan Police and CTD personnel took timely action and killed several terrorists.
He said the brave sons of Balochistan Police and CTD had set a high example of courage and bravery.
Shehbaz paid tribute to the officer who sacrificed his life while fighting bravely. He prayed for the elevation of the martyr’s ranks and for patience and strength for the bereaved family. The PM said the government was determined to completely eradicate terrorism from the country.
Naqvi praises security forces
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also paid tribute to the police and CTD for thwarting the terrorist attack in Balochistan. He said police and CTD personnel fought the terrorists bravely and successfully repelled the attack.
Naqvi said many terrorists were killed due to timely counter-action by the security forces. He said the brave sons of Balochistan Police and CTD had set a high example of bravery. He said they had courageously foiled the nefarious intentions of the Fitna-ul-Hindustan terrorists.
Naqvi paid tribute to the martyred officer, saying he set an example by sacrificing his precious life in the line of duty.
“Such brave sons are the pride of the nation,” the Interior Minister said.
